warning: Summer staff change. Make sure your sandwich actually gets into the oven before you move down the line. Or you might be standing arounf for a long while while College Park's finest tickets your car

Meh. I got avocado on my sub for an extra dollar and I got maybe one slice on it. I got mayo & oil but the sandwich was still dry...and loaded with hot peppers. Toooo spicy. The dude at the cash register was also very out of it.

Ever since I've gone to Potbelly I've never looked back sandwich shop wise. I love their underground menu and their regular menu. The breads are delicious and the service is super fast. Also their soups and milkshakes are some of the best I've ever had.

Just hire someone to clean... Trash can was overflowing!!! Everything had a layer of dust...the entire cashier stand was coated on crumbs... Potbelly's should have some basic standards for cleanliness.

I was very excited when I walked through the door and then it slowly went away. Good selections, better quality then subway but still a chain sandwich shop. Staff was friendly but was pre-occupied with probably wanting to be outside. I give it an ok grade and if my choice was potbelly or subway. I would pick potbelly.

Sandwiches are okay, but never really filling enough. Great customer service and an okay atmosphere.

The sandwiches are great three stars is for yelp because the potbellys in college park is not open till 11 pm its 9 pm and this misinformation failed me in my time of need. *sigh*

First time to eat at this place and it appears to me like a subway restaurant. They do serve a variety of sandwiches from roast, pork, turkey and beef. I had the T.K.Y and it was a very tasty turkey sandwich. Great for the college kid or just looking for something fresh, hot and fast.

My vegetarian friend loves going to Potbelly's because apparently they have a great veggie sandwich. Being a fan of chicken, I usually ignore her attempts to get me to try her favorite sandwich and get my own favorite sandwich, the chicken salad on wheat. Potbelly's chicken salad is fresh and delicious, all the time. Add some cheese and ask them to toast it and you've got yourself a delicious meal. We usually split one of their cookies, which are impossible to chose between because each flavor is equally delicious. This particular Potbelly's has live music on certain nights. College kids play their own music and covers of songs; it makes for a nice atmosphere.

I think I have spent more lunch afternoons here than any other place in college park..! I love their subs! They are healthy and yummy, way different from the usual subway sub. The one thing that always blows me away however is the ambiance of the place! It is so old school, reminds me of Harry Potter's world always! :p and I love that! :) :) It is good for a cheap lunch, and has a nice view of the street outside! I like spending my half hour near the window on the crude wooden tables, watching people pass by while I eat my sandwich! They also have this cute little section on one side with musty books, peeling covers that you can just grab and read and then put back please! :) One of the many things I will miss about CP!

I LOVE potbellys. It is so hard to find good tuna salad, but theirs is awesome. And I love that I can always get a smoothie with my sandwich. There may be like 6 other sandwich stores in a 5 foot radius of here, but Potbellys always wins. I recommend getting one of their perfectly toasted delicious sandwiches on wheat bread, a smoothie, and one of their homemade cookies and coming with a friend. It makes for a great casual dining experience and great food to go along with it. The prices are also very affordable compared to what other places want for a sandwich nowadays.

My friend wanted a Potbelly sandwich. I wanted a Potbelly oatmeal chocolate chip cookie (POCCC). What is it that makes these $1.09 morsels so divine? I am constantly trying to duplicate the recipe, but to no avail. You have to try one. Don't say, "But I don't like oatmeal..." ...they are not typical oatmeal cookies. I could go on and on about POCCC, but I won't. You'll love them. Sorry, but you will. POCCC, I love you, enough to write you a haiku: big and round are you temptress of the fast food world chewy bites of joy

Typical Potbelly bumped up right next to the UMCP campus. It wasn't too crowded at lunch time, unlike other locations I go to, and I managed to get in and out in 20 minutes after finishing my skinny wreck on wheat with a bowl of chili. I'd be right back here if I could.

  • Mary Z.

I've gotta give this place five stars because of how much I eat here. I can live off of the Wreck for five days straight, and eventually will get sick of it, but it's still so incredibly good. That is also the only sandwich I've ever gotten besides the mushroom melt, and never got that again since I made the mistake of having a Big Wreck, with the small mushrrom melt right after it- ending up in the bathroom yet again. There's also a secret menu, and they always squint and look at you suspicious if you ask. They've also got cool musicians if your into that stuff like me. And if you go around 5:30 to after 6 ish it will be packed, so go early or a little later to get your food fast.

Run, do not walk to this Potbelly and get yourself a Potbelly Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookie Ice Cream Sandwich, .a.k.a., POCCC ICS, a.k.a., my kryptonite, a.k.a., 1 hour on the elliptical. Seriously, you're going to want to get your heart rate up in order to prevent this thing from going straight to your already enlarged butt cheeks. Better yet, do some jumping jacks while you're waiting in line. If a college kid in a free Maryland shirt from MBX looks at you funny, tell them, "I'm getting the POCCC ICS," and they'll nod in approval. Worse comes to worse, there's a Rugged Wearhouse down the street where you can get yourself a new pair of jeans at dirt cheap prices. As far as the sandwiches, I'm pretty much Potbellied out; in fact, I'm A Wreck. *whomp whomp* Too bad Jimmy John's just around the corner isn't that great. The milkshakes are also amazing and have this little shortbread cookie on the straw. I'll tack off a star b/c the parking for this place is ridiculous. And don't even bother coming on a Thursday or Saturday night b/c Knox Rd gets crazy with college students heeding the call of the pied piper known as Cornerstone. Delivery to most spots on campus.

Awesome sandwiches, and friendly staff. These aren't your subway sandwiches. Top notch, and very tasty, highly recommend The Italian.

I remember walking here from my dorm room. When I graduated, I still found a way to get here, though parking was the only thing. I miss the sandwiches here. Seems like potbelly's isn't everywjhere nationwide. I wish they were. the WRECK Salad, the Wreck Sandwich, DELICIOUS!!! You can actually taste all the different flavors. This is one of my favorite sandwich places!!!!

Wow. What a nice place for a quick bite that is truly delicious. They make their own bread and it really shows. Lot's of sandwich and salad selections The bread is toasted and you choose your own toppings. I had the melted cheese and tomato sandwich and it was truly tasty. The bread makes the deal. Great shakes and soups also. Very casual, located right acress from UMD. They do it right, and certainly deserving of their many local awards.

chili was delicious! We visited the spot by University of Maryland and it was filled with a young, college vibe. My partner enjoyed his strawberry shake and his sandwich. This place is very inexpensive compared to other sandwich joints.

This place isn't anything special. The people are nice but they're boring and they seem like they only smile because they might lose their job if they do not. There are a couple of really ditzy people working there that just stand around and forget directions. Other than that, it's an okay place for a sandwich.

Every time I eat here, I get sick. I'm just sayin..... Save yourself some grief and check out the Subway or Five Guys across the street.

Great Place. Fun Filled. Restaurant Feel - Cozy, comfortable, like-home Service - VERY courteous, respectful, quick Food quality - Delicious. I usually order a Wreck with a bowl of Chili. Comes out to be around 5 bucks, which isn't bad. It fills you up just right and those spicy peppers are dazzling. YUMCH.

Great sandwich, great oatmeal choc chip cookie. Interesting decor (in a good way, it wasn't immediately obvious to me that it was a chain) and priced right. Highly recommend it. Could have a few more creative sandwich options on the menu.

I had a fully loaded Italian sub over memorial day weekend 2011 .. and I have to say it was one of the BEST subs I've had in a very long time ... the place was packed but the staff was friendly and kept the line moving ...

If you're not familiar with Potbelly, it's a sub place that toasts your subs. They're not reinventing the sub business, but they make pretty tasty subs. I wish they had more of a variety of exciting toppings, but they don't. Still it's quick and easy and reasonably priced. Where this particular location moved from 3 to 4 stars for me was their customer service. They have some very friendly and helpful employees. I would come back because of the staff. Oh, I also love their Dream Bar. Get one if you have a sweet tooth.

I work in the area, so this is a great place to stop for an inexpensive lunch with your coworkers. It's in a prime location so it's easy to walk to from surrounding businesses or if you prefer to drive there is metered parking around the corner. I usually get the chicken cheddar sandwich or the pizza sandwich. Like other Potbelly's, you can add toppings (italian seasoning, lettuce, tomatoes, hot peppers, etc) for no extra charge. The staff are all friendly and patient with me when I am being indecisive about what I want. And sometimes there is live music -- usually a person singing or singing and playing guitar -- which makes lunch breaks a bit more enjoyable.

Friendly staff. Your usually fast food subs. Free Wifi very slow and basically not usable. Location is a little hard to see and get to. On top of the hill.

I decided to eat at this College Park Potbelly place because this is one of my husband's favorite places to eat for cheap sandwiches. We both ate here this past Monday (as a energizer meal before my overnight shift), but I unintentionally forgot what my husband ate due to not having the receipt in front of me. I remember eating a Mushroom Melt Sandwich with meatballs (the mushroom melt comes with mushrooms, swiss, provolone, and cheddar cheeses. The toppings I had were Italian season, pickles, tomatoes, and onion. The sandwich was appetizing ( I only wish that I could remember which one my husband has because he enjoyed his as well and now would not be a good time for me to ask him because he is currently at work). Anyhow, the good was affordable and we would both go back due to the fact that the guy who gave us our toppings (pickles, tomatoes etc) for the sandwich was polite and my husband said that the cashier he talked to was also friendly.

Has a Pizza Sandwich ever saved your life? This Potbelly's introduced me to the wonder of that very same Pizza Sandwich I discussed in the previous sentence. It was a brisk fall day in 2010. The University of Maryland football team had just stomped on Morgan State, winning by 59 points. We stumbled into Potbelly's riding on a high. And we left it even higher. Often a meatball sub kind of guy, the Pizza Sandwich appeared on the menu and I had to give it a shot. "Please hold the mushrooms," I said. With pepperoni, mozzarella cheese, and marinara sauce all wrapped in classic Potbelly's white bread, the ensuing explosion of flavor ruptured my sense of reality. As the wonders of traditional pizza mixed with the unprecedented presentation of a Potbelly's sandwich entered my mouth, waves of joy washed over my mind. Just as I sat down to eat it, it had already gone. Deep into the recesses of my stomach and consciousness. I had been born.

Quiz-what? Sub-who? Togo where? This quaint, brick-laden building on the corner of a street across from UMD is filled with a delicious franchise that has SADLY yet to hit the west coast(where I live). I visited this place during a nationals competition according to the hosts from the local college students who were our liaisons. The bread is so fresh, the ingredients so sharp and delicious...the banana peppers and FAMOUS seasoning... orgasmic to the point of no return. Their milkshakes are just as fabulous. ATTENTION TO THE OWNER OF THE POTBELLYS COMPANY: ***SEND IT TO LOS ANGELES.. .WE WILL EAT YOUR FOOD!!***

They make the best sandwiches!!! recommend getting one of their perfectly toasted delicious sandwiches on wheat bread, a smoothie, and one of their homemade cookies. specially i love how they slow toast the sandwich, and the vast of ingredients and toppings that they have, My sandwich was lightly toasted so that the bread was warm, crisp with the provolone cheese slightly melted but with the topping serving the perfect cool, crisp compliment to the warmth. It was really a great sandwich! maybe i'll stop there on my way home from work or at lunch

So I'm usually not a big fan of sandwiches. Potbelly's is THE ultimate exception. When I attended UMD, I was here for lunch or dinner every day. Sometimes I had it for both lunch and dinner. I used to walk from my dorm in the sweltering heat. I used to walk in blizzards and monsoons. All for a sandwich. I never grew tired of it. It is certainly the best sandwich place on the planet. It's so good I often drive from NYC area to Philadelphia (the nearest location) just to get a sandwich and shake from Potbelly. The only complaint I have is that there are no Potbelly locations in my area!!! I need one right now! I wish I could give this place 6 stars.

Jen F. has been raving about Potbelly to me for the longest time and telling me how great the sandwiches and smoothies are. I hadn't eaten a sandwich in 2+ years (I know, I'm weird) so it seemed like a good idea to see if these sandwiches were any good. I was surprised by the number of vegetarian options. The sandwich with mushrooms and cheese was delicious, perfectly toasted, and only $4 for a WHOLE SANDWICH. Maybe I'm so used to NYC prices, but this was a bargain. The whole wheat bread was also really good. The cookies by the cash register were torture to look at. There's a pretty large seating area if you prefer to eat your sandwich there, or you can also take it to go. It's such a relief that they don't post the nutrition facts in this place. Ignorance is bliss.

I used to frequent Potbelly all the time for lunch, since I work right down the street. Their hot peppers are to die for, and the sandwiches are great too. However, I must take off one star. Not because there is anything wrong with Potbelly, but because Jimmy John's is next door. Jimmy John's sandwiches taste fresher, and they bake their own bread. Also, the staff at Jimmy John's is nicer and quicker. To make things even better, Jimmy John's is a lot less crowded. Go to Jimmy John's instead.

They make the best sandwiches in CP. Their salads taste wonderful too. You can't miss it on your way to school. It's also not ghetto like Subway (or most things in the area).
